I LOVE hot chocolate. I’m not a huge coffee drinker, so when it gets cold, hot cocoa is the way I go ! I also love using a crockpot, because I don’t have to stand over it to cook, and it’s easy to clean up ! Can’t beat that. So I’ve been wanting to try a homemade version because let’s face it, Swiss miss just isn’t that good. This recipe is for real chocolate lovers. So if rich chocolate isn’t your taste, you’re better off with a more subtle recipe. Here is what you’ll need for this rich, creamy crockpot hot chocolate.
– 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
– 1 cup milk chocolate chips
– 6 cups whole or 2% milk
– 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
– 1 14oz can sweetened condensed milk
-1 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla extract
Throw all these ingredients into your crockpot and give it a good whisk.
Set the temperature on low for two hours or until all chocolate chips are melted and your mix is hot.
You’ll want to stir it occasionally to make sure the chocolate doesn’t settle in the bottom and get too hot.
Once it is ready to drink, ladle it into a mug and top with your favorite topping!
